Who we are
Bird Nest is a Houston, Texas-based, woman-owned & operated, women- & minority-focused Film & Television Development Organization. We are dedicated to the provision of affordable business development services, the management and monetization of new feature-film, documentary and television projects, and the economic development of the Houston and overall Texas film industry.
What we do
We offer support services to our program participants with aid in their development, production and distribution of their intellectual property. This includes offering guidance in the management of their budgets, hiring crew and walking them through post.
As an experimental research & development group think-tank, with entrepreneurial spirits and charitable minds & hearts, we are engaging in an out-reach program seeking media-artists and film organizations who require support in business development & coordination. We also guide artists with business management, digital marketing, fundraising, brand development and project start-up and launch.
In part because
• According to current reports, the film industry employs under 25% of women and under 15% of minorities and we are working hard to improve upon those numbers.
• The city of Houston currently enjoys less than two percent of all film and television work produced in the State of Texas, and we are diligently engaged in efforts to grow that percentage.
